His Masters Diploma in Technology dissertation was based on the performance and efficiency of air compressors, for which he received a bursary of postgraduate studies from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. In 1991 he was formally registered as Professional Technologists (Engineering) by the Engineering Council of South Africa.

In 1987 he assumed the position of project manage at Van Zyl and de Villiers Consulting Engineers and in February 1994 he was admitted as a partner of the practice.

In May 2000 he co-founded Mekan Consulting Engineers with Lekgari Mekgwe.

In 2015 he and Lekgari Mekgwe opened Axell Consulting Engineers. He is responsible for the day-to-day running of the company as well as the Midrand office. His responsibilities include marketing, staff management, client liaison, financial management, engineering, and project management.

As a trainee engineer in air-conditioning department of improvair (WP), he was promoted to supervisor, involved in design and estimating department.

In 1997 He joined Mncwango Shaw Berriman Consulting Engineers in association with Richard Pearce and Partners.

In May 2000 he Co-Founded Mekan Consulting Engineers with Jose Antunes. He is involved in the day-to-day running of the company and is responsible for the Kimberly and Bloemfontein Offices, as well as marketing, staff management, design and tender documentation, supervision and commissioning as well as financial management.

In January 2015 he and Jose Antunes opened Axell Consulting Engineers.
